Commissioned for a beautifully renovated home in the South West of WA, this floor to ceiling timber mosaic wall is one of the most personal pieces Scarab has made.

Every piece of timber was hand selected, cut and jigsawed together into a flowing canvas that brings the colours and materials of the surrounding Australian flora and fauna into the fabric of the home. The cladding sits seamlessly alongside the locally sourced timber and beams throughout the rest of the house, part of the building rather than something applied to it.

Each section carries a decorative element that pays tribute to the professions and passions of the people who live there. Inset bamboo detailing on the lower floor references the musical reed, while the flowing crosscut section on the upper floor speaks to the cycles of Australian wildlife and the natural world around the property.
