Perth Pool House
The fully detached Pool house built for clients at the rear of their family home in South Perth is a great example of our ability to undertake complex projects from start to finish. Design is a core expertise at Scarab. From skilled pencil on paper sketches through to fully specified drawings, the evolution of design is always central to our creation of something beautiful.
Design opportunity
Working closely with the clients we first brainstormed concepts for the building design. The unusual angled rear boundary of the property was seen as an opportunity rather than an obstacle, inspiring a building design with a unique form that maximises internal floor area. The combination of wedge shaped floor plan and skillion style roof creates a building with many unusual angles and planes, and the sloping ceiling rising up to over four meters at the leading corner gives a fantastic and surprising sense of volume on stepping into this small building.

The beautiful polished aggregate floor inside harmonises with a range of other select finishes and handcrafted touches by Scarab, creating a clean and stylish feel throughout. The commercial quality aluminium bi-fold doors afford the poolhouse maximum functionality in both summer and winter conditions, and the graduating pergola extension off the west side integrates a lovely entertaining space within the beautiful poolside environment.
