Stratum 6. Bungle Bungle

The series of artworks entitled Stratum have been created by Peter Cook between the late 90s and the present.  To date there are eight works in the series.  Some Stratum artworks have been created in small limited editions of up to six.  Others are one-off pieces.

The long ages of the land are written in the layered rocks and sands of northern Australia.  When rain and wind cut and carve the ancient stratum, timeless stories are exposed.  Few natural landscapes are as striking and compelling as Western Australia’s Bungle Bungles.  In the Bungle Bungle table, the representation of water symbolises this constant process of formation-erosion-formation.
