Bible and candle set
This beautiful White Oak chest was commissioned to house a bible and christening candle.  Emphasis was placed on traditional styling and superb craftsmanship throughout.  The case is crafted from American White Oak for the walls, with English Ash Burr featured in the lid.  Inlaid bandings of West Australian Sheoak with South African Black Locust frame the walls and the Ash Burr in the lid.

The custom made metal work is in solid sterling silver, with the quality of the custom made 3-lever lock reflected in the smoothness of its action.  The head of the solid silver key is pierced with the initials of the owner of the box.  Inside, silver candle mounts contrast against royal green suede upholstery and on the bottom of the box a small silver plaque is stamped with the maker’s mark of Peter Cook and year of making.
